Hi BB,

It was a nice place, very clean and the people were freindly.

It was also good to meet yourself and Sussex.

GMB PDB Branch Secretary Mr T Flanagan was recently invited to a meeting in London with Naleo by Brian Rowlands, NPHA. Also attending were T&G representatives from Liverpool and Norman Deegan from the NTA amongst others.

It is hoped that discussions had at this meeting will be the first of many between all trade representatives.

So the Northwest road show hit the South, where's it heading next?

Apart from Naleo's preferred model of licensing that being a one tier system, I find it hard to visualise what Mr Flanagan and a bunch of licensing enforcement officers might have in common. In fact I find it hard to visualise what any taxi or private hire organisation would have in common with a bunch of licensing enforcement officers? Perhaps you can tell us?

Regards

Hi Captain,

What I do know is that Naleo are now aware of the existance of the GMB PDB. They are now aware that the GMB PDB has members who are both H/C and Private Hire and from all area's of the country. Naleo are now aware that the GMB PDB are interested in any issues that will effect its members.

Regards
BB

As you said JD, inclusion is better than exclusion.

And they are also fully aware that your friend Terry knows absolutely nothing about Hackney's and private hire...... a really clever move that was........

Mr T,

I would have thought Naleo are more interested in the fact that there is a National Trade Union with Taxi and Private Hire members who are currently excluded from talks, with Taxi trade members which they are participating in.

I don't think they will think thats very clever!

The point is you are not doing the thinking. I have a strong feeling they would rather sit with five national associations and unions, and go forwards......... then sit with one person that knows sweet..FA...... and is 20 years out of date.... your problem as I keep saying... I have spoken to quite a few people that attended the General Meeting and they were not impressed.........
take a look at your own site and see what type of interest he creates...........http://www.gmbprofessionaldriversbranch.co.uk/
