There is no good will in owning a plate . If you had a PH company and you had regular customers , you sold the business and it was 100% likely

 As a cab driver with my own cutomers if i was to sell my business i would also pass on my regular customers as not to let them down now i am sure thats goodwill

WITH RESPECT IF YOU READ THAT VERY CLOSELY IS IT NOT IN FACT JUST REFERRING TO THE VEHICLE NOT THE LICENSE.

DOES NOT MENTION CRITERIA WITH REGARDS TO LICENSE JUST VEHICLE.
THINK THATS WOT TRAFFORD ARE GOING ON.

No Mr Roxborough spoke in general terms but gave the vehicle as an example. The vehicle was only one concern voiced to Mr Roxborough by the applicant, there were several. The applicant stated to Mr Roxborough that his license be granted under present license conditions which applied to existing license holders and that no suplementary Conditions be attached to his licenses that have not been applied to previous license holders.

Judeg Lyons then said this.

So there will be no change in the established criteria and there can be no opposition to the granting to him of a licence.

Trafford have departed from established criteria by attaching a condition which is not only unlawfull it wen't against an undertaking by their counsel that no such conditions would be attached.

Trafford also has to abide by what was agreed in Chambers, they also have to abide by their criteria at the time the licenses were applied for. That being in June. There is ample case law supporting applicants in this respect and i'm afraid non that supports the local authority.

Regards

JD

But I bet he doesn't, they will be parked on the ranks in front and behind you.

just a small piont but the plate on the back of your cab has no value it belongs to the local council
which they will renew every 12 months if you still fit there criteria.
Its the good will that has the value

Well if you believe that then one has to wonder why thousands of folks pay tens of thousands for those worthless items.

I can't believe anyone with an scintilla of sense actually believes that. The license is a vehicle license.

Let's just for a second pretend this is a drivers license. How do you think the courts would judge a condition that only applies to one driver? Say he could only work 30 hours a week.

Well i dont know ask him ? . Hes proberly having trouble finding drivers .If hes making enough with his school contracts , why bother messing up your cars . So your saying, there is no unmet demand , why would any one buy a plate for 35000 pounds ,if he would be struggling for work . I go back to my original point, why are not, calling for taxi licensing officers head . Hes dropped a brick . Hes put all your plates at risk . That man will keep his plates . Why every other driver in Trafford, does not do the same as him, i dont know .streetcar

thing is guys, you have all stopped listening to the voices of reason, instead you have joined in with the "wannaplate" brigade.

if they dereg, it will be lethal for some, but ultimatley they will have to rereg at some distant point, but until that point thier will be chaos.
