After bursting my head with this last week it is clear that there is a big difference in opinion,It is also clear that different areas wait on the outcome for different reasons.
My personal view is the same as Over and Out and because Bruce is a member of the organisation that i am secretary of i will back him to the hilt .What some people are forgetting Bruce wants a variation not a new licence.

If councils made sensible and reasonable decisions, the courts would not over rule them.
IMHO this job is fecked because councils love to ignore the law, do what they think they can get away with and act in an arbitary fashion.

Imho I think the trade is fecked cos the majority in it are apathetic which allows the council to do as they please until somebody tries to stop them

And those who choose to do something about it are scrutinised and targeted for their beliefs by people who have very selfish views.

Selfish is, in itself, a point of view.

Although I think the lad shouldn't have to buy a silly money WAV, I haven't seen an answer to the 'why not premier WAV' question?

Or have I missed something? :?

I have sympathy for the driver concerned, however I do wonder about the larger picture.

If the driver wins, in theory any council with a mixed fleet will be obliged to offer a saloon license to any driver with an ailment, which, as we know can be given by way of a sick note after a quick visit to a doctors.

Another thing that bothers me is that Dundee dont seem to have any age limits.

That aside, one of the main arguments of the saloon lobby has always been that saloons cater for the ambient disabled which is why they are needed. Of couse these vehicles, like TX's dont only cater for the disabled......which is a point that hasnt also been answered.

Limited to one model of taxi, which is new and untested. [-X
One thread on here highlights several problems with this WAV including a split floor and questions over the braking system

Is it available with an auto box BTW?
Many disabled drivers can only drive autos
