Unless you're someone like MrT who will criticise the course if it's crap the chances are that drivers will say it was great.

Not many drivers are going to say they've just wasted 30hrs of their life attending a course.

At what stage are you going to complain that they are teaching b*llocks?

Whilst I appreciate that this appears a waste of time for experienced drivers it is probably quite useful for the newer drivers. Perhaps them in the education system should have consulted those in the taxi system to come up with a more interesting and challenging course

I think the point that Mr T is alluding to is that the teachers are teaching drivers the wrong stuff.

There is no % written in any law that says a certain number of taxis need to be WAVs. Other than maybe an old London one for London.

And all goods recovered from a PH should be taken asap to the police station.

toots... as you might have read in some of the posts ... some of the information is incorrect..... there is an offence called( stealing by finding)..... unless this has been superseded giving private hire companies an exemption from prosecution then what they are teaching is wrong..... and the driver could end up being prosecuted.... my findings on this course are going straight back to the person that Designed it... and he will be taking appropriate action......

No doubt you advised him he was wrong?

And no doubt you advised him that the 1976 act makes no reference to lost property and that each individual council applies its own conditions as to lost property if they so wish?

I do hope you corrected him.

Whilst I agree it will take time to complete having knowledge of an area and being pronounced fit does not a good taxi driver make. Apart from which as has been said in lots of posts now it is a case of getting what you know on paper. It is inconvenient but it can be enjoyable

I would pay the drivers wages whilst they were on the course.

Can I come work for you. You seem much nicer than them who run the system I work on

My drivers are employed on an hourly rate and not on a shared bag, radio rent or other such scam.

What if they sit there for hours and don't get any work :?

They don't. They only do school contract work. they don't work the streets. Most are semi retired people who only want to work part time and enjoy the school holidays off.

arent holidays abroad cheaper during term time?...
