What exactly do they spend it on? Recruitment, training, wages, bribes, court cases.......... I'm sure the list is endless but I'd like to know.

I think the bribes bit must be the one. ](*,)

Why not send Mr BB a PM, and ask him to send you an application form?

He might even pop up and deliver it personally, or see you at the Taxi show next month. :D

Cos I've yet to see anything they have done for PH :?

He'd be as welcome as anybody to a cuppa and I'm not so sure I would want to go to a taxi show I know nowt about

What would you like to see them do, that they haven't done? :?

And isn't the best way to deal with issues to stop or amend them before you need to do the shouting? :-$

I'm just interested to see what they have achieved for Ph drivers. Of course it is better to solve issues before you need to shout and again I'd like to see evidence of that if it isn't too much trouble. I still maintain that it is not althogether ethical to be sitting cosy in both PH and HC corners so to speak :D

I would say it's fair to say the taxi and private hire drivers of this country are, in the main, the most miserable bunch of moaners the world has ever seen. :D

With that in mind, and taking Mr BB's number of members into account, if the GMB wasn't doing what it's members wanted then surely TDO would flooded by folks saying so.

Now maybe those members with the hump might well be computer illiterate, but surely not all. :?

Because at some point there may be a conflict of interest. If the union are defending a PH driver who is charged with illegally plying for hire that surely would pi$$ off their HC members. The PH would of course have to be defended as they are innocent until proven guilty surely. Same goes if HC are ranked up outside pubs and clubs on unofficial ranks, would the unions tell them not to do it cos the PH can't get outside to pick up pre booked fares :?

I would imagine unions defend a lot of iffy folks doing iffy things, but that's why some iffy folks join them.

But even iffy folks are allowed a fair hearing with proper representation.

The conflicts are heavily outweighed by the common interests of drivers safety, licensing and working conditions and wages.

What do you want that you don't have? If that's nothing and you are fine, then clearly you don't need a union or national association.

And if you don't need them, then they wont bother with you.

I'm just asking them what they have achieved for drivers. It is a bit of negative attitude just to bother with something when you have a problem or when you want something. You seem quite happy answering my questions with more questions but they have only answered once :D

Ooops they've actually answered 3 times
