Ali, i'm certainly not suggesting(with any sly winks etc) that i know something from the inside. it would just seem a bit strange to me that these 2 companies would put so much time and effort in to opposing the putting on of any new plates only to allow them into their companies. and i'd imagine it wouldn't make all that much of a difference to the plate value anyway - maybe about 5k? but people should definitely check out the situation themselves with the companies concerned if they were trying to buy a plate from any carpetbaggers.

what utter rubbish

you do know that on the last 2 occasions that plates where granted, we heard the same nonsense mutterings from those guttersnipes back then

and yet most of them ended up in city/central.

so if you have no interest in buying then why the interest in prices of plates and positions.
just curios

btw i dont think your suggesting anything your merely repeating what some muttering fool has told you

a far as i remember there is a selection process when joining.

some people within these radio companies seem to think that because they are a co-op that they are above the law.
if those individuals really believe they could discriminate because of that, then perhaps i should try joining just for the hell of it.

more party litigation what fun

btw by suggesting that,if it did happen.
you would only swell the coffers of the competition.

thats how the smart business man in city/crt work real clever.

if it were me id join ecph just for the hell of it,or comcabs.
not that ill ever join a radio company again.

like most company men you seem to lose sight of who the customer is,its the guy who pays the radio dues.

Chill out dude, I'm just asking the question, no hidden agendas here. FYI, I was kinda hoping that any plates going on may be getting sold a little cheaper by the carpetbaggers than the current value. Relax man.

Please re-read my post about my intentions of buying. I have no interest at 35k. I tried to clarify by saying that they would have to come down in value a fair bit. Does that suggest I might be interested at an appropriate level? Probably not in your eyes. Anyway, you have certainly clarified the situation for me. Appears that in your opinion there will be no problems getting in to city or central. Which is probably bad for me as I was hoping that they wouldn't and would therefore get sold off at a more realistic price. Cest la vie.

if you want to buy! look for a seller and try negotiating the price down..if it works happy days if not then you keep looking.

but thats not what you did... you tried to talk the market down by injecting rumors on a public forum, thats why i made a crack about the wall street stock exchange (yes dougie i know thats in new york  )

there are rules on that sort of thing you know

Durr,

for your information these plates that are coming on are being worked by Bona Fide brief holders and not being sold.
Please use your Dictionary to understand the meaning of 'Carpetbagger' and you will see that it does not apply to the 20 plates that are coming on.
The 27/28 licences that were issued in Jan 09, now, how many from that IPL list had existing licences? How many from that 27/28 have kept their free gift? Now that's 'Carpetbagging'
The court Judgement was 100% correct that is why these guys went to court because they believed that they were Unjustly treated by CEC in the way that they used the IPL to issue the original tranche. These people that fought their case have been totally Vindicated.
I dont think that you can see that as you see people getting something for nothing, well thats far from the truth my friend

You're quite right jinky, that was a bad assumption to make that there would be carpetbaggers amongst these applicants. Apologies to the applicants.
