Which does beg the question as to why PH operators are so scared of de-limitation.

Maybe they are just plain thick.

Lack of control old chap, lack of control.

Its amazing the bad habits former good PH chaps can learn.

More hacks less PH?

What a good idea.

Just maybe some operators actually care about the drivers and the trade!

They care about the money

The biggest problem re dilimitation is that whilst there is a shortage at weekends, what about the other 5 nights. Instead of 1000 drivers at w/ends we have 2000, "right problem solved".

Now the other 5 nights, drivers have to stay out all hours to pay their outgoings, because of a work/income reduction in turn becoming a danger to themselves and the general public.

Do the powers that be as in "Newport Gwent" want drivers working 70/80 hrs plus per week, because that is the reality.

I do understand you point, but how do you think the 100% de-limited PH trade survive? :?

I think I know several hundred PH drivers, and don't know of any that work more than 80 hours a week.

There you are guys the words "survive" "80hrs per week", just because P.H do it, it does not make it right.

Unfortunately P.H have got to do it because of greedy owners - then they have to go flimping to make their money. The hackneys will end up doing the same excessive hrs, and not seeing their families basically because the critieria is wrong in defining unmet demand.

In Cities, how do you constitute unmet demand when big events are haphazard i.e concerts, sporting events and much more that do not happen on a regular basis. With that happening you are always of a fashion going to have unmet demand, but does it warrant putting public safety at risk by licensing too many drivers.
