Professional drivers branch... I am afraid I don't see anything professional about them... the first thing any driver is taught in Sefton or Liverpool is that you do not keep large amounts of money on you... three days' takings... unreal....

Ok so what if he had just started his shift - had no money on him other than a float and then got held up at gunpoint - do you really think the outcome would have been any better?

I think he was lucky he had some real money on him so as to satisfy the scumbag.

Now there is the difference Mr Blobby..... he would not have got my money.... if you're happy to give the scumbags your money that's up to you, in Sefton if a driver thinks.. and I repeat thinks he is about to have trouble.......... he will call in a yellow one .. and then he won't be on his own .... also the hackney and private hire trade have a special allotted phone number for the police.... normally they're there within minutes.... but then again we don't call the police the fillth.... and also provide many thousands of eyes when children and vulnerable people go missing................ you get what you reap in this life....

With his outdated grievance politics' policy he will always do more harm than good , which is a shame for the genuine GMB members and representatives

If the program had a single aim of highlighting attacks on "London" private hire drivers then I think we should consider that as being the focal point of the program. I hope somewhere down the line a full half hour program will be made on Cab driver safety in the whole of the UK.

Regards

I think that will only come about when a dozen or so of us die within a few months.

Brave words - I hope you never have someone pull a gun on you.

Several people have lost their lives standing up to these scum. What is needed is draconian penalties for carrying these weapons - this government seem set on letting offenders out prison early. Who votes for these muppets?

I think we should be concentrating on the issue of driver safety, what can be done to help all drivers nation wide.

Let's not forget it was the BBC who put the program together and therefore the editorial was down to them. Perhaps if the editorial had been left to someone in the Taxi trade who knew the score then the program might have been presented differently. The same applies to the Newcastle "Inside out" program which I thought was totally unbalanced.
