THREE increases in the price of diesel this WEEK.

Gone up 25 pence a gallon. Which is 21 pence, plus 4 pence VAT.

No wonder Darling Alistair could forgo the 2p duty increase.

FFS it was on the local national radio news that even American truckers are thinking of pulling off the road due to sky high prices of diesel, FFs there only paying $4.11 or £2.20 a gallon

But transfer the amount they pay into our money on the strength of the pound against the dollar and you'll be looking in the region of £5 per gallon.

Diesels Going up at approx 2.5pence per week or £1.30 per annum..if it continues at this rate it will be around £2.61 per litre by this time next year...now thats not allowing for even higher paced priced increase as are expected, Its quite conceivable that £3.00 plus per litre (£13.63 per gallon) may be the pump price by May 2009 on this assumption a modest vehicle doing a modest 36 miles per gallon will cost approx 39 pence per mile to run just for Fuel, factor in all other costs EG,more rapid vehicle Depreciation, Vehicle repayments, increased road tax, increased running and maintainance costs, taxi Licenses etc, say that totals £8000 per annum and you drive 60000 miles in that vehicle which will cost 60,000 x .39pence = £23,400 (fuel)+£8,000 Vehicle costs+£ 15,000 wages=£46,400

£46,400 Divided by 60,000 miles equals 77 pence per mile before you as an employer even makes a penny. are my sums wrong??? I hope they are or we will be paying the Customer for the Privilage of driving them unless we charge £1 per mile. Looking forward to reading the flaws in my argument.
Maybe you guys do charge £1 per mile or maybe more...be Interesting to see.

If that happened then the world would be f***ed, thus I can't see the powers that be allowing that.

If it got to that stage then the oil companies would be nationalised, maybe a few more banks, and there wouldn't be a plane in the air.

And finally the Greens would have won.

Then there will be one less Licensed London Taxi on the road in the shape of my TX2. [-(

Last night in Edinburgh - £1.27.9

The country is creaking at the seams, and don't think the powers at be know where the tipping point is?

A lot of people are scared and pi**ed off.

A recipe for disaster? :-|

I wonder if this is the quiet before the storm? Things have a habit of going quiet and then everything blows up apart.
