The 20th of September is the date for Mr Mathew,s court case. With recent events in Renfrew and Aberdeen i think unite will be very confident of a win.

One way or another, this should set a precedent.
The Renfrew and Aberdeen decisions did not go to court, and are not binding on any other council.

Yes,
As it has already been deferred back to the committee the judge will i presume have to make a decision. From what i have heard the Equality bill will play a big part in the unites case.

Hopefully the unit case will endeavor to get as many saloons back on the road as possible

I have heard Unite are using the new DDA against the councils. Soon we will have blind drivers as they fit the criteria not to be discriminated against too. two woofs left, one woof right.
I think the union is taking this too far IMHO.

Everone else 100% WAV and the disabled renting out their saloons. Anything is posible with our stupid councils!

Who do you think shut down Fat Sams central by using private investigators paid for I might add by the Scottish Taxi Federation

Who negotiated all your wage rises and has always done so, or would you just like to take what the council want to award you

Who got the council to bring in the unique tax reference on your application to eradicate all the benefit and tax dodgers

In the case of an emergency test who do you think got the council to agree that if a test can’t be obtained Monday to Friday then the testing station will open on a Saturday morning

When the offices only wanted to keep 3 months records who do you think persuaded the council to increase it from 6 months to a year again this helps regards those not paying their way.

Who do you think got the taxi badge exam changed when they proved the answers were ready and available for those that wanted a copy.

Who do you think got the council to agree that only EWTA vehicles to be allowed in service to slow the tide of applications, this I might admit has increased since the Peugeot Partner but it did slow it down for quite a number of years.

Who took the council to task to the traffic commissioners and came away with a better increase than what was on the table, okay I admit it wasn’t a huge win and we didn’t receive our increase until 9 months after the original derisory offer but the increase we have will stay and can only be increased upon in the future.

Who fought to get Mr Sheridan compensation from the Council when the tester failed to turn up and Mr Sheridan lost a weekends taking's

Off coursed it must be the DTA & Unite who do nothing for the trade

By the way what have you achieved for the trade apart from bleating on TDO, I don’t see you volunteering to give up your unpaid time I might add for the benefit of the trade.

The most important item this trade requires is the door on licenses to be firmly closed but as long as the trade are more interested in what car everyone drives the council will always be winning and laughing at us, get the door shut then argue regards your so called fair playing field. Why should the longest established member of the trade give up everything for the benefit of the newcomers, let’s be honest do you honestly think every wheelchair car operator wouldn’t operate a saloon if they were allowed too, and anyone says they wouldn’t are full of sh*t, after all when Mr Thoresen had his original yellow plate I might add he operated a saloon now there’s a surprise.

are u the minority cause i dont think u will ever be the majority ?

Over and out no need to explain what the DTA and unite have done, especially to those who reap the rewards but do not contribute.
