You can call me whatever but it was thanks to the RMT we are in the M4 bus lane, no one has been taken to court , and next year we will probably be in all London bus lanes.

It wasn’t really though was it?

It was thanks to a certain clown from Harrow who wasn’t in the RMT at the time.

So much for the power of Addison Lee and all it's money, when it relies on one blokes rantings on the web for it's information.

You need to do your homework a bit better, but it will be thanks to the bad preparation and lack of research, that ultimately you will fail to achieve your goal.

Best save up for Europe. That's really big bucks.

Enjoy it while your monopoly lasts but the public are voting with their feet to PH. We are growing you are dying , less drivers and less students on kol.

We concentrate on quality, and you concentrate on quantity, that’s why your drivers sexually assault 8 girls a month.

I'm sure the public will vote on that too.

Licensed London Taxi Drivers are up by 500 from last year, so that's yet more crap about numbers. They rise year on year as more and more of your mob bail out.

Your market is flooded by sub standard drivers recruited by greedy folks like you who just want the rent, and provide little work.

I believe your new found ally in the GMB once called you 'Chiselling Scum'

So Mr 'Chiselling Scum', how many drivers bankroll your pot? :D

Yellow badge holders with the extension are perfectly entitled to work Clapham Common.

More bad research?

It'll be your downfall.

Clapham High Street is not part of the extension, lack of knowledge will be your downfall.

This is part of the post that started it all and it's not the twit in his shelter.

The sh*t hits the fan......

Remember the M4 bus lane.....well this is what the people above you really think of you!!!!! Read from bottom to top....all you "usual Suspects"!!!

Dear Mr White Knight,

Thank you for your message of 17 July 2009 to the Commissioner and others in Transport for London about private hire vehicles driving in the M4 bus lane.

We can confirm that PHVs are not allowed to use the lane – the ‘taxi’ indication means just what it says. The Highways Agency is the relevant highway authority and their enforcement functions in this area are carried out by the Metropolitan Police. We are making enquiries through contacts in the Highways Agency and the Police to improve the effectiveness of this enforcement.

Yours sincerely,

errr, am i missing something here ? The email categorically states that PHV are NOT allowed in the bus lane so you take that as a sign that you can flout the law and use it any way ? It explains about improving the effectiveness of the enforcement so i assume the bright PHV drivers took that to mean that lack of enforcement meant they could break the law!

I thought laws were meant to be adhered to. What you're saying is that you can be selective about which laws your wish to follow, explains why a large number of PH drivers are touting every night.

I'm really not sure what in that email gives the impression that PH can use the bus lane other than state that enforcement can be improved ? It merely states the law so it has nothing of value that wasn't known before it was published!

The only thing i see is PH companies openly encouraging their workers to break the law which as it currently stands (and until any appeals are possibly won remains so) clearly states NO PHV IN BUS LANES. What is being clearly shown is a disregard for the laws of this Country and an arrogant attitude to the regulatory body; the PCO.

It's this arrogance which defines the difference between PH and taxis in London. We as a trade respect the laws that govern us though may not always agree with them. We have worked to the stringent guidelines set down by the PCO and have given very little cause for concern. PH has had to adopt licensing, they no longer have free reign over what they could and couldn't do as was the case prior to being regulated. It's not enough to be given satellite offices in venues; advertising on rear windows; total control of pricing and the vehicles they drive. Like petulant children they stamp their feet and demand more! They push hard against regulations and rules; laws and statutes.

Sorry guys, the law applies to ALL of us. You can't just read a random email and come to conclusion that because something needs improving it gives you carte blanche to break the law. Going on that kind of logic we could apply it to anything we see fit to do so and have anarchy on the streets.

So Clapham Common Tube Station and it's associated rank doesn't sit at the top of Clapham High Street then?

A rank which is defined as an island rank.

Check your Sat Nav, and try answering the 'how many drivers do you screw' question, Mr 'Chiseling Scum'.

Obviously that's the GMB's phrase, not mine.

Greig

Clapham common station rank is on The Pavement not the High street. I think you need to do your map test again (is this what having 'the knowledge' is??).

I love the way that one day I am Terry Flanagan and the next John Griffin do make up your mind.

Just remind everyone what great victories you and the LTDA have won over PH in almost 50 years?

So you obviously can't be a Londoner because I remember Taxis blocking bus lanes demanding access to them in the 70's. So that was law abiding?

[/b]

We demand equal access but do not disrupt the public unlike your trade associations.

I have to share this with you, have been asked if i would consider becoming a TAXI rank Marshall. After due deliberation i decided to refuse as the pay of £50.00per hour minimum 3 hrs for every Friday -Saturday -Sunday,and being tax free until the revenue catch up. Was not enough, after all whats a minimum of £450.00 get nowadays, especially when you have to park the cab up for 9hrs
