Nae sure, but the test in the past was just geared up for weekenders working for beer/holiday money so they're not geared up to having to pass a proper test.

In time word will get round that only serious and committed drivers should apply, and a good thing too \:D/

Better that than a trade full of doleites, tax cheats and part-timers/weekenders and the full-time drivers cannae get a plate. #-o

Well done Dundee City Council =D>

Sorry it should be well done Mr Elder & Mr Stephens they were the ones at the liaison who pushed to have the test changed and make it into a proper test of the applicant's knowledge.

They were part of a liason Group who collectively requested the above !

Their position on the plates has always been the same.....They will never challenge Dundee City Council on Plate numbers through fear of the Council implementing a Wav only Policy...Saloon Car status and Hired plates is and always will be, number one in the collective Constitution of the DTA and T&G.

Did you know that Dundee City Council offered to cap Dundee almost 3 years ago at Liason Level ? The only condition was a full WAV Fleet with rolling survey's yearly and Corporate Licences for all !! And guess who requested a recess to discuss the offer ?? Yep...Captain Mainwairing....So every time you feel like Indiana Jones searching for the Holy Grail, when you're looking for a Rank Space OR sitting behind a Hired Plate..Just think of The Home Guard...... ](*,)

Yes they will challenge the council on plate numbers and they have asked the council to investigate hired plates but as you know the police enforcement is next to nothing. The Tand G and DTA do whats best for its members and i think Chris and Graeme do a thankless job.

People in glass houses should not throw stones.
