Can't see it'll work with HC to be honest.

Can't see any difference with PH TBH. :?

Would a driver sit around all day earning nothing when there are rich pickings at other times?

There currently are no rich pickings at any time really to speak of, unless of course you are in a very popular place.

With respect to the HC and PH comment I made it was in relation to being able to limit hours worked. It will be easier for the PH to be limited by introducing day and night shifts at the companies they work for. HC are free to work when they like if this happened. That's why I couldn't see it limiting the hours worked by HCs.

As I said with the Sunday being quiet you never got a HC on the road it was one of our busiest nights because of that. If a HC came out they would have cleaned up but they never did. They do now cos they need to make up money that they haven't made on their normal shift pattern and a lot them are working the PH system now so there's work there for them

Because drivers are working crazy hours diluting the work that is there.

If there was enough work for them they wouldn't be working crazy hours, surely. I personally don't work anymore than I've ever done in fact I work less now, but, I do work at the busiest periods. It seems that the drivers that work day shifts or early evening are the most affected by the reduced trade and seem to be working longer hours than normal, at least that's how it is here
