Well the last two nights were fairly busy when I was out there, and that is the real world.
I wouldn't try and talk it down to much if I was you, have you just arrived in this country or something, do you remember only the good times?
I remember the early seventies, three day week, oil crisis, rampant inflation, strikes and then the late seventies culminating in the winter of discontent.
The first half of the nineteen-eighties, mass unemployment, more strikes and very little pay for the working man and woman.
The early nineties were interesting as well, still here though and still surviving,Worked through it all apart from the early seventies.
Workers always win in the end Skull and I have others things I can do, other things I want to do, I'll do them as well.
I've never relied on the council to bail me out so my conscience is clear, to be fair I've got to much to do at the moment to deal with this childish rubbish just now Skull.
I'll speak to you later, much.

Stu, Friday was shi*e. The work just isn’t there. Yes, you can still make money but you’ve got to milk the hours. It’s bloody hard going. There is very little country work and picking a choosing your jobs is becoming a thing of the past. I found myself picking up shi*e just to get money on the meter. It could be said that, I like to pick an choose my fares, but who really wants to pick up shi*?
I think you’ve got a severe does of seeing your world through rose tinted spectacles. You should have gone to specsavers, it would have cost you a lot less than 50K.
http://www.specsavers.co.uk/cgi-bin/str ... =home.htmlThis may come as a surprise to you Gary but Fri was actually ok.
Yes it's getting a lot quieter on a Fri and Sat and to quote you here,"the work just isn't there".Now tell us all, what would solve the non eventful weekends then...."more taxi's on the road"

.I don't know if you realise the extent of which you have contradicted yourself in this post but read it again and it's as plain as the nose on your face."It's bloody hard",now are you saying it would not be "bloody hard"with all the extra taxi's on the road ?."Very little country work",now is that a bad thing, taking into account the price of diesel which you keep reminding us of ?
"i found myself picking up sh*te just to get money",now are you saying you are not providing the public with a service here ?
I don't know what Jim will make of this point giving that he tells us all it is the public who are being let down
Now do you still think it is Stu with the "rose tinted glasses"?
I do look forward to your response here and that what you really meant was......

It makes you wonder how owners can charge £300+ for a rental now doesn't it?
As for more cabs, I say once again; same driver, same job, driving his own single shifted taxi.
You're not to quick on the uptake are you Saf?
The only ones to suffer are ar*holes like you

I don't know any guys paying "£300+" for a rental,if there are then there must be very few, the average rentals are around the £250 mark.
Obviously you do find things really hard to grasp Gary.Once again this is what would happen,1266 black cabs on the streets, fact.Approx 2 drivers per car at the moment, that would be 2532 drivers, "approx",even if half the drivers who rent a taxi apply ,and get a plate, that would be 633 extra taxis.1266+633=1899.Now as you say, "all these drivers would have their own taxi sitting at the front door doubling as their own car and working the hours to suit and fit around their family".Now this is clearly the difficult bit for you and Jim.1899 taxis all on the road at the same time working the busy periods of the day ie early mornings, lunch time and then the evening rush which i don't know if you have noticed is getting less and less busier. Then you have the Friday and Saturday nights. Now what part of this is hard to understand? Everybody else sees this, and what the outcome would be and that again in case you still don't see the problem here, everybody working longer hours, more days and in return less money.Yes you two halfwits will disagree because it doesn't comply with your hideous little argument.
So again Gary,if this makes me slow on the uptake it must mean that you and Jim have not engaged the two brain cells you have collectively, and got to the starting line yet
Again Gary, absolutely no "suffering" from me,how could there be "suffering",i have nothing to lose.

Saf, every market finds a balance but usually when the customer demands the service.
Now who the feck wants to sit in a taxi paying a rental for very little return?
Some guys would work 12 hours, others splits, some would work more, others less and some would go out of business - guys like you.
But one things for sure, the fantasy for the radio company plate own would be over. If you wanted a driver the rental would be at a free market rate or the driver would simply put on his own vehicle - same driver, same job his own taxi.
Personally, I would rent from someone with a load of taxis rather than buy one of my own. I can't be bothered with the hassle.
The problem is Saf, drivers were never really put here to prop up your little illusion. You would just have to find something else to blow about
