I meant to say levy a huge windfall tax until they reduced the price of fuel to reflect the price of oil per barrel.

Because oil is priced in dollars and because the dollar is so strong against the pound, the price at the pumps will not fall to it equivalent price when oil was priced this low before Christmas 2007.
Or at least thats the excuse the oil company's have given.

The price of LPG that I get from Flogas has not come down a single penny since the price went up in July. I think they are profiteering.

An ESSO down here dropped another penny today, down to 105.9

At 49 a barrel surely we should be down on about 80p a litre.

The dollar was at 1.45 to the pound for a long time then it rose sharply to two bucks, but when was that? I don't recall petrol prices decreasing in line with the decline of the dollar. Does anybody?
