where there is 100% forensic evidence i cant see any problem, capital punishment should be available, if only as a last resort and option, far too many walk from court or get early release from prison only to do it again

the relatives of victims must wonder about the system to say the least

That's the problem with politics in the UK.
People aren't interested and don't vote.
But they find the energy to moan complain about the government that they helped (by not voting) elect.
