Dunno about battery life, I keep it plugged into ciggy lighter.
I know a driver whos camera only worked for 8 months, but who cares at these prices, it's like a disposable camera. I've had mine for over two years.
I train mine on the road during the day for heavy traffic and turn in to view inside at night when the bams are out.
