Your opinion is that those who buy a plate can sell it any time they like for a profit or loss and those that get one issued free should keep it for the rest of their life. If you don't believe they should keep it for the rest of their life then perhaps you can tell me how long they have to keep it before they can sell it?

when i get time will reply to the rest but my opinion is quite simple.
you should have the right to a plate anytime and i do not agree with the POLICY thats in place right now so cut the smart ares stuff out JD you post somegreat stuff on this forum so come on do you think it right to fight for a plate and then sell it makes the people who want the POLICY changed look daft.

so lets run over it once again

1. you get plate form council when you need one.

2.you die or leave the trade you hand it back

3.you cant sell plate as it not yours its the councils

regards

chipper

Unique visitors are the combined total of first time visitors and returning visitors based on a cookie and this is the figure that matters.

First Time Visitors are based purely on a cookie, if this person has no cookie then this is considered their first time at the website. For the purpose of accuracy IP confirmation is combined to work in conjunction with a cookie but because most IP’s are dynamic then anyone who has cookies disabled or has deleted the cookie and uses a normal dynamic ISP account they will show up as first time visitors.

However like I said the figure to concentrate on is the unique combined total because that shows all visits to the site and any site that gets over six thousand visitors a week either unique or otherwise should feel quite happy with themselves.

Regards

JD

I heard this morning about a guy, who, in the last few months, bought a couple of plates-135K cash. Now whether or not he paid cash as he claims is not the point. When asked about what possessed him to spend that kind of money in the current climate, his reply was that he had heard rumours about de- restriction but didn’t believe it would happen and never thought to investigate it further.

I am actually lost for words. #-o

I was told one was Alan Johnston the ex-CRT Chairman. I can't remember who the other seller was. There been a number of guys dumping their plates in the last few months.

I think Alan might have got wind of something

I don’t know about Independent Taxi Services (ITS) but Trainer the accountant that works at Lauriston St can’t get any plates to shift. I was told he has loads of guys on his books looking to dump but no one buying.

Future Plate Holders:

The big Ph companies in Edinburgh will be more than happy to give you a radio position. Edinburgh is your oyster. If the big 3 can’t accommodate you the Ph will - in a heart beat. At the end of the day the people of Edinburgh are looking for a transport solution. The customer only wants to get from A to B, you only need the radio to provide a service, what does it matter whose radio.

Enjoy.
