You are probably right skull we should stick together and put a code of practice in place it would be difficult to implement with the amount of new drivers coming into the trade but it doesn't alter the fact the CPHA would have to be a bit more thoughtfull of there actions and remember there are two different factions of operators out here that have different concerns in these times of business being at its lowest for us diferent fare structures Is a thing that will have to be adressed and is causing concern thats where a code of pratice would be more helpfull along with a committee that negotiates with allits membership.
The implementation of your code of practice is simple.
You all have to agree to what best serves the interests of your trade and what conduct or actions are deemed as unacceptable to those interests. You then need to get every owner to sign up and to hold a copy in his taxi. Every new driver should then be provided a copy and asked to give his details and sign up as part of their association membership. If it were me, I would even charge a nominal joining fee for administration purposes.
I’ll take a bet Bigblue, you and your chums could come up with a dozen reasons, why the above would be difficult to implement. However, if you put in the same effort, you do bitching at each other, you could turn it into an overnight success.
You would then have a platform to work off as far as notifying people about trade issues, meetings and what actions are being agreed to and taken on their behalf.
If you want to have a real future in the taxi trade Bigblue, I suggest you forget about the past.
