Alex is the problem external factors or other forum users like gusmac making complaints all the time??

Some people are far too easily offended.

It's not just one person, although numbers really don't matter.

People are offended when perhaps they shouldn't be, but that doesn't make offending them right.

Alex

At the height of the recession the number of private hire vehicles increased in some authorities as individuals who had perhaps been made redundant sought other means of income. This doesn’t seem to have been the case in Edinburgh. The Civic Government Act does not permit the authority to numerically limit the number of private hire vehicles thereby allowing the market to dictate the appropriate level. Discussion with the private hire association indicated that there were no issues of availability for private hire vehicles. It was also suggested that there should be an approved list of vehicles that are suitable for licensing as private hire vehicles."

What about non Edinburgh PH? Do you get an influx of them or is it minimal?

Yeah, but it's like the telly. You don't like it you can switch off. No one's being forced here.

And while much of it may be borlocks, it is to some degree entertaing.

Like A&T telling us that competition is healthy, so long as he doesn't have to compete.

Lassez faire comes to mind.

The problem is those whose names are on the deeds, so to speak, can't just switch off.

I would be as happy as Larry if it was just banter, but some of the stuff is highly personal.

Naming people as doing this that and the other might seem fun, it's more than likely true, but admin can't take the risk that it isn't.
I think everyone should just think for more than a millisecond before they press the submit button, but please no real names, and no homophobic slurs.

Alex

The homophobic slur was indeed my fault and as such apologised to Alex by email. I can assure you there will be no real names posted by me. I can understand your plight Alex but honestly I'm only trying to have a bit of fun. My beliefs are true but would prefer to express them through fun than the seriousness that some do. Great site Alex, keep it going.

The City Cabs committee have turned City Cabs drivers from Primark Mannequins in to Savile Row Models.

Not only have the committee landed the most lucrative contract in Edinburgh's Cab Trade history, they have introduced an appearance fitting of meeting royalty. City Cabs are showing that they are the "model" hackney taxi company with a truly professional appearance and attitude towards the customers.

It's looking like City Cabs will prove they are worth the two year extension and that is a great goal to work towards for all concerned. Keep up the good work.

That'll be another nice little earner for the dudster and tree Mcvee then?

So which of the hapless duo are you KS?

Nothing much gets past you Jazzy B!

Hardly hapless James, they have just secured the futures of their members and drivers families for many years to come, and Central have managed to secure yours, a cab nigga boy struggling to make your rental. And before you go on about inequality etc, you don't deserve to be considered, end of.

It's huge increase, in-comparison to where it was 10 years ago. The fact is, taxis are doing fewer fares for hours worked than they ever have.

There is also the bus service and especially the night buses which grew out of taxi ranks bursting at the seams for hours on end. :-|

I think we can all promise to stop posting names.

I share Kaisers sentiments Alex, this forum is great fun.

Again, ph v taxis over the last 17 years

Image

If anything, the black cabs has grown more substantially over the time periods and stats and figures show that the restricted black cabs have grown more than unrestricted PH

You do realise the above is shi* as it is a snap shot taken in isolation from all the taxis and Ph now working Edinburgh from its surrounding areas?

Add in East Lothian, Mid Lothian and West Lothian Ph and taxis now working the city, especially at peak times.

Your country work over the last 10 years, has almost disappeared and so have your punters waiting at ranks.

Where is all your work going???????? #-o

Could you enlighten me as to who you keep referring to as Ian?

He has a fixation with the Colky boy, Iain Colquhoun. Keeps me amused and Jasbar confussed.

Alex has asked that no real names are posted on this site, what part of that is it you fail to understand?

There seems to be a real anger built up inside you Skull!!

Why don't you try S&M Skull? You could vent your anger through this. You don't like authority do you? The Cab Office, Council and the RC have turned you over and you still feel violated.

Look Skull, [edited by admin] happens in life, it's not the end of the world getting your license REVOKED, grow a set of balls and get out there and find something worthwhile to do.

I've got a great idea for you and you'll like it. Too many people walk their dogs and don't pick up the poop. You could walk round parks and if you see anyone forgetting to pick up the poop you could step in and pick it up for them and dispose of it properly. This would also give you much valued experience for you opening your own Doggie Club. Just a thought Skull.
