(244598) 2 Chris Huhne (Eastleigh): To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many (a) licensed and (b) unlicensed taxi drivers are on the National Sex Offenders Register. (244597) 3 Chris Huhne (Eastleigh): To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, how many people were (a) charged, (b) convicted and (c) sentenced to immediate custody for offences relating to unlicensed taxis in each of the last five years. |

Regards JD Personally, I would say that an individual is both unlicensed and bogus, if they imitate being a taxi driver. It will be interesting to see the Secretary of states reply on thhe 18th. If they aren't a licenced taxi driver I don't see the point of asking these questions unless it is to check how many times some silly female has got into a strangers car without any regards to her safety. Perhaps he wants to know how easy it is to pretend to be a taxi driver and get away with it. Maybe there is a bigger picture but the only one I can see is to make sure that all taxis not just Black Hackneys actually look like taxis so it is harder for the drunks to make mistakes and it may become harder for the perverts to impersonate taxi drivers. |
