Elite Taxis of Leicester have gone into administration owing taxi and private hire companies across the country thousands of pounds.

The company carried out booking services for EWS railways, but lost the account at the beginning of November 08.

Miraculously a new company has started from the same address has within hours of the liquidation.

My understanding is that it should be different directors. I think if you are the director of a company that goes into liquidation you can't be a director of another company for a period of time. That's not to say it won't have the same owners :?

Thank you.

The current situation....post Gladen.....arguably allows what is currently happening.

The taxi trade, through its blindness (and greed), is allowing it to happen, we've already mentioned 'Fraser Eagle' and a number of taxi companies struggling to receive payment from them, 'Elite' is merely another.

However, as we all know, accepting a booking for a 'Taxi' doesnt need a Private hire operators license, anyone can do it?

Anyone can go 'National' approach large 'National' users and tell all and sundry they accept bookings for Hackney Carriages?

wrong

till company house investigates any director they can hold 100's of "dormant" directorships ready to leapfrog into the next one.

an undischarged bankrupt cannot act as a director of a ltd company but thats a different thing.

From my knowledge, having dealt with Elite for the last year or so, Elite are the victims of the system.

They tried to provide EWS with a service they were looking for.

As always the problems come from two sides. The total incapability of many taxi companies to bill accurately and promptly.

And EWS's willingness to without payment for months because of any small error they can find on any invoice.

Good luck to cabfind trying to solve the problem next.

Cabfind has invested a lot of dosh into their set up but they are very fragile at the moment and if the payment systems go tits up they're stuffed but they are part of Davy Liver so they do have some taxi experience behind them and probably somewhere an operators licence
