SWIFT CABBIE BANNED FOR 100MPH FARE;

A TAXI driver caught doing 100mph with three passengers on board was banned from the road yesterday.

Sefi-Ullah Akram, 23, admitted speeding, saying he just wanted to get the job done as quickly as possible.

Police clocked him at 100mph on the A90, taking a fare from Dundee to Perth on November 2 last year.

Solicitor Cliff Culley, defending, said: "He was anxious to get to Perth as quickly as possible and his speed crept up."

He told Perth sheriff court Akram would keep his job if he was banned for three months or less.

However, Sheriff Michael Fletcher banned Akram for four months and fined him pounds 200. The Sheriff told him: "This was a high speed."

yup 100 mph thats really going to get your passengers safely to their destination ! :-o

Now I wonder if we can get the local plods to catch fender bender next time she's bombing down the A1 at 100 with passengers on board. Something needs doing quick shes had more prangs in 3 months than every other driver in the district put togerther over the last year ! At this rate she'll get everyones premiums jacked up 50% !
