Summary Reports on the ruling by the European Court of Human Rights Grand Chamber in S v United Kingdom (30562/04) that the UK policy of retaining DNA samples and profiles of all persons, including juveniles, suspected but not convicted of offences constituted a disproportionate interference with their right to respect for private life under the European Convention on Human Rights 1950 art.8. Considers the steps that might be taken in compliance with the ruling.
