One would hope that the responsibility of wearing your seatbelt at the age of 27 would be yours and not the drivers. That said we are run by a 'nanny' state so chances are they will put the blame squarely on the driver. I always ask passengers to put on their seatbelts but if they don't I can't make them

We are responsible for children wearing seatbelts. We should advise passengers to wear seatbelts. We could insist but if they didn't we would then have to decide whether to carry on the journey. Ultimately the wearing of the seatbelt is required by law but it is not our place to enforce the law as such or at least that is my opinion which is open to correction :lol:

Whether they put the belt on or not is of no relevance to any Idiot Daft enough or p*ssed enough to jump out a Moving Vehicle..no driver could stop them from undoing their seatbelt when the vehicle is in motion..

A seat belt sticker on either window or somewhere prominant would be more than adequate.

However if the Mondeo in question had a faulty door lock and faulty belt then thats a different matter, but as for passenger stupidity..well than knows no bounds..

I could stand corrected but I believe that all children 14 years of age and younger are our responsibility - anyone over that age is deemed to know that they have to but it is their responsibility if they do not.

Trevor I do not think that it makes any difference at all - a driver is a driver regardless of the vehicle, and you/I would be held responsible.
