Foreign drivers who break the traffic laws face GBP 900 roadside fines or being clamped

Times, March 6, 2009, 5

Mar 06, 2009

Under legislation to be introduced on April 1, 2009, foreign drivers will have to pay on-the-spot fines of up to GBP 900 for flouting traffic laws. If drivers cannot pay the fine they will have their vehicles clamped until they can and face an additional GBP 80 release fee. The fines, known as "deposits", will be refunded if the driver goes to court and is found not guilty. The rule will also apply to British residents who cannot prove at the roadside that they have a valid UK address.

I can go free, if im in no rush, but theyve got the fast routes (diijon/rheims/lyons/nimes/narbonne/le perthus) pretty much locked down+tolls (the route de sol)

even harry shaw avoids paris now

Don't be so negative, see what happens and if that turns out to be nothing after six months then have a whine up.

For the record I think it will.
