Bostick considers 120 job cuts

Adhesive firm Bostick is considering cutting 120 jobs across three manufacturing sites, it announced.

Bostick said it was consulting with unions over workforce cuts which would affect jobs at Stafford, Chester and Leicester and "impact all disciplines".

A spokesman said the move was necessary following "a significant reduction in demand for its products" as a result of the worldwide economic downturn.

It said it hoped voluntary redundancies would minimise enforced job losses.

Bostick added it was consulting with employees' representatives and would begin a voluntary redundancy programme.

This is going to happen right across industry before it gets better. It's the boom and bust cycle that Brown said he got rid off :?

I read the book written by the Bostick founder a couple of years ago, I can recommend it. It's called "The history of Glue" fantastic, in fact, I couldn't put it down.
