Because the law allows it. You don't have to be local to be a baron.

I don't know who she is & the address is not familiar, but from research on the internet the address given on the council agenda is QDOS House etc.

The internet shows that the full address is probably;
Nationwide Cab Care
QDOS House,
Station Road,
Coleshill,
Birmingham
West Midlands
B46 1HT

Telephone; 01675 463285

The same address is home to QDOS Prestige Car Hire.

I suspect that the cab she is attempting to licence will be used as a replacement vehicle for cabs that are being repaired after an accident, which usually means non-fault accident with the third party insured & admitting to blame. Otherwise these companies do not get their rental from the 'at fault' party's insurance company.

sounds right BC, 2 drivers in my company have already had the service companies of this ilk provide. AFAIK, You have to bear the costs incurred transferring your plate to and from the "replacement" and back onto your repaired vehicle, but the cost is recovered by them on your behalf.

The one they used have 2 saloons and at least 1 WAV with meters calibrated on the Falkirk Council tariff.

I tried to hire one privately when I was off the road over Xmas and New Year, but felt that £55 a day + VAT was a tad steep.

I hired one to an insurance company and got £100 per day + VAT. I once hired one of my limos to an insurance company and that was £200 per day + VAT for 6 months.

To answer your first question..it is 7 Taxis and 7 PH..I'm not nit-picking..well i am really !! coz if members of the Trade can't differentiate then, you can't blame the public for their ignorance.
3 of these vehicles will be used as replacements...2 PH...1 Hack..
And the overall answer is DIVIDE...which is of course the Council's greatest asset, and why the Trade has gone to the dogs !!
So keep searching for that rank space and if you are an office car, keep paying your fees to the very people who are shafting the Trade for financial gain...
