This is so sad and I'm sure his family will be devasted. It makes you wonder what drives people to do something like this

Horror As Taxi Driver Decapitates Himself Outside Cafe The death happened shortly after midnight yards from a 24-hour cafe used by black-cab drivers. 10th July 2009 A taxi driver decapitated himself after tying a rope around his neck and a post before driving off at high speed. The incident took place just metres from a 24-hour cafe. The man, believed to be in his thirties, is said to have then driven off at full speed in the early hours of this morning, aiming straight at a pillar. His head was found yards from his taxi in Great Suffolk Street in Southwark, London. A cab driver, who preferred to remain anonymous, said: 'One of the drivers was at the scene just afterwards. 'He saw the cab all smashed up against the pillar, with the driver’s body still inside the vehicle. 'He then saw the head lying on the side of the road next to some rope. It is horrific.' The death happened shortly after midnight at a disused petrol station yards from a 24-hour cafe used by black-cab drivers. The witness added: 'The driver who arrived at the scene just afterwards alerted the police and ambulance service. 'Some people from the flats nearby also came running out of their homes when they heard the crash.' Scotland Yard said the death was not being treated as suspicious but it was investigating. Ambulance services attended at 12.40am and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were trying to trace the driver’s next of kin today. The man, believed to be in his thirties, is said to have then driven off at full speed shortly after midnight. His head was found yards from the vehicle in Great Suffolk Street in Southwark near an informal depot for taxi drivers. One of his colleagues, who preferred to remain anonymous, said: “One of the drivers was at the scene just afterwards. Witnesses said the cab was surrounded by police tape and ambulance crews after the incident. One, who asked not to be named, said: “It is unbelievable he would do that.” Mark Wilson, 43, was working in the nearby Union Jack pub when the driver committed suicide. He said: “I was clearing tables when I saw ambulances turn up. “I looked up and saw the taxi jutting out from the garage with police tape across the entrance. “At first I thought there had been a stabbing but now I know it wasn't.” The dead driver is believed to have been working a night shift before apparently killing himself. It was quite horrific to carry on reading that. How sad that someone's life should be so bad as to contemplate such action. |

If anyone reading this is thinking of a similar action don't do it, I've seen a couple do suicide over money before, the worst thing that can happen if you are skint is the lender will have to go sing for it, I stopped a young lady who owned a shop doing it in the early 90's, the bank had forced her to take another 30k to prop up her failing shop and she was now in the hole for 50k thanks to them, I told her to bankrupt herself and have no guilt about it as they'd contributed towards it and it would all be written off, I saw her a year later and she said to me she filed the next day and her brother took her to the hearing, all got written off and she was free from it, still didn't offer to shag me though  anyway I felt good because she was going to do herself in that day, I could tell by the way she spoke and held herself, she was totally finished, it's only money, and if they're stupid enough to lend it knowing what they would've known was about to happen then that's their problem, never surrender, life is a [edited by admin] and it loves to trip you, headbut it and smash it's balls in and tell it you ain't the victim it thought you was.
