Newcastle city council revoked every school contract in the city one year into a two year contract with a two year extention this week .They are looking to save money .In what way will they do that ?

Do the two year contracts have a clause that allows the council to terminate/revoke the contracts after one year, or at any time for that matter & if so, on what grounds do the contracts allow the councils early termination/revocation?

I suspect they might offer a sole supplier contract, which in these mean times could lead to a biding war.

They might also be reassessing the criteria for free school transport, and/or changing to PSVs.

Basically councils are all financially in the poo, and they see the taxi/PH trade as something of an extravagance.
