Taxi driver jailed for seven and a half years for Aylesbury rape

Aylesbury taxi driver Abid Mehmood has been found guilty and sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for raping a woman in the back of his car in Fairford Leys.

Mehmood, 27, of Elmhurst Road, Quarrendon, forced the woman to perform a sex act on him in the early hours of February 8 in the car park of Nuffield Health Centre.

The victim had earlier told Aylesbury Crown Court: "I didn't know whether he wanted to kill me or rape me."

Married Mehmood was found guilty by a jury at Aylesbury Crown Court this afternoon (Thursday) and will spend at least the next three and a half of his seven year sentence behind bars.

I fail to see the point of giving somebody 7 years knowing full well they'll only serve half that if they behave themselves whilst inside. eusasmiles.zip

That's cos the public neither know nor care about the difference and perhaps on this ocassion it was a taxi driver. Either way it's not good for the trade as a whole. I'm sure this young lady won't care about the difference she'll always be anxious in either vehicle

Then best you, and anyone else with the hump, votes for a party that will stop early release.

I don't think they do exist. Anyway it is not early release, it is parole. I would bet it has something to do with prisoners human rights. From my point of view I think the public would welcome a sentance that meant the person served the full term, even if the term was shorter. At least we could think justice was being done instead of feeling cheated.

The problem with Human Rights is they don't consider the rights of everybody they only consider the rights of the individual at the time. I believe the public have a right to be safe and I think criminals should be locked up and the only rights they should have is a roof over their head that is warm, dry and clean and they should be fed. Educate them while they're inside, not that it'll make a difference but at least we can say we tried. The idea that a prisoner is released early due to good behaviour shouldn't be an issue. It should be if they are well behaved their sentence won't be increased
