Taxi Driver Robbed By Passengers In Tadworth

A 19-year-old man has been arrested after a taxi driver was robbed in Tadworth in the early hours of Sunday.
The driver was dropping off two passengers in Henbit Close between 2.30am and 3am when they demanded his money and mobile phone.
Police said the driver handed over a small amount of cash and his phone and the suspects ran off.
The first thief was described as a white man, aged in his early 20s, 5ft 5in tall, of medium build and with spiky hair.
He was wearing a dark blue or black long sleeve shirt, blue denim jeans and a gold chain around his neck, and possibly had tattoos on his upper chest area.
The second suspect was described as a white man, of thin build, approximately 5ft 5in tall, and in his early 20s.
He was also wearing a dark blue or black long sleeve shirt, blue denim jeans and gold rings.
Detective Constable Nicola Hunt from Epsom CID said: “Street robbery is rare in this area and, though the suspects didn’t touch the victim, this was a very frightening experience for him.
“We have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with this robbery but I am appealing to members of the community to think back to the early hours of Sunday morning.
“Did you hear a commotion in Henbit Close or maybe you live nearby and were disturbed by lots of noise? Or perhaps you recognise the suspects’ description?”
