Taxi Driver Online :: View topic - Jubilee in the SH*TE

Is the Jubilee a Peugeot,as I have only ran the Peugeot vehicles,as the Euro and latterly the E7.
Rather concerned if it turns out to be the same vehicle,under a different name. :shock:

Well the driver wasn't very pleased so he phones the vehicle inspector at the local testing centre in Watnall, he told him the airbag should deploy in any front end accident, as his didn't the vehicle inspectorate are going to test the conversion and all it's fittings. The driver told him the taxi was only 11 months old and it looks like it's being written off because it's shoved all the enging back and bent the chasis legs. If I paid £22,000 for a cab I'd want the airbags to work in a accident wouldn't you??

No Paul the Jubilee convert the Fiats Cab Direct convert the Peugeots. Check your insurance to because Phil who had the smash said his insurance are only going to pay him bottom book price on a van and not a taxi.

So whats the point in selling a vehicle in which they state has air bags but when you are in a collision they don't work????

most airbags do not function unless the seatbelts are fastend

and Hackney drivers are not required to fasten seatbelts

I have 4 on order as is well known on here each waiting for test and held up in the current dispute.

I think pal you need to revise the rules and your thinking,

Looks like Jubilee are getting their just deserts. On Wedensday a Jubilee conversion the Eurocab was involved in a accident on the A614 near Mansfield, a woman driver in a BMW did a U turn in the middle of the road, this resulted in a T Bone, the speed was 55 MPH on a 60 MPH road. The Airbag did not deploy, thus injuring the drivers arms and head. Right you are in a normal car in a accident and the airbag deploys, you are in a converted vehicle and the airbag does not deploy what do you do??? The Vehicle inspectorate told the driver the air bag censors work in a accident off the front and sides of the vehicle and do not work off the seat belt restraints. About 4 weeks ago Geoff another one of Jubilee's finest taxis was in a collision, the driver didn't have his seatbelt on, his airbag deployed.
