Around The Courts 26th August 2009 A taxi driver has received a 12-month conditional discharge after twice ripping off customers. Saeed Naseem, of Long Close, Bessacarr, charged fares above the level set under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976. The 49-year-old pleaded guilty to two counts of charging excess fare under the legislation following two incidents on December 20 when driving Hackney Carriage HC154. I wonder if the council revoked his license and also prosecuted him or whether they just did the latter? |
