Merseyside Police Car Involved In Collision With Black Cab In Kirkdale

September 7 2009

An unmarked police car was involved in an accident with a black cab.

The police car was turning off Derby Road, in Kirkdale, towards the city centre when a black cab hit it from behind.

The collision happened at around 2.30am yesterday while the police car was on routine patrol.

The two police officers were taken to hospital but were later released.

The driver of the black cab was also taken to hospital suffering from suspected broken ribs.

Police officers closed the road for a short while and the road traffic department is carrying out an investigation into how the collision happened.
