The Transport Road and Research Laboratory (TRRL) announced this when they where first introduced.

its not just that, we used to live opposite a road at one end of which was the local fire station...

the road had quite severe humps every 50 yards, you could hear the fire engine slow down for every hump, i assume ambulances did the same, are lives in danger due to these delays i wonder...

And they,ve Just Twigged it???? Did it never occur to anyone that Urban Driving MPG figures usually read only around 60% of the MPG of rural Driving or 70% of The combined MPG figures...Slower is far more wasteful!! .....simple

Of course these figures are based upon slowing down :wink:
