Rapist taxi driver jailed for 10 years

A taxi driver from the Black Country has been jailed for 10 years after raping a 12-year-old schoolgirl.

Mohammed Yunis was told he had “ruined” the victim and must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The 52-year-old of Farringdon Street, Birchills, Walsall, denied raping the girl but was found guilty after a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Sentencing him yesterday Judge Michael Challinor told Yunis: “This was a spontaneous and opportunistic attack.”

He added: “You were a responsible and hard-working man, so your fall from grace is very considerable.”

The judge said the harm caused to the schoolgirl was “immense” and she now felt “shame, guilt and rejection”.

Mr Henry Spooner, defending the father of five, insisted there had been no grooming of the victim. He added the conviction had been a “devastating” blow to Yunis and his family.

He told the court: “This was a disastrous 10 minutes that has ruined his life.”

The conviction will now be reported to the taxi licensing authorities in Walsall.

Anyone know how to get hold of her, this is a big issue, she should be reinstated right now, this thread proves she was right, her child, her childs safety, her money, her right to spend it with who she wants to, anyone who knows how to get hold of her please post a link, she deserves better, and her fears are founded on this topic alone.

for what exactly? he can hardly apply while in HMP, and a CRB check wont go in his favour will it...

No not all, and before you pull the card out on me ref we had one go to court for alleged rape, the court cleared him but the rank doesn't but I have because I saw what really happened, if you can move away from the PC'ness of it all and respect that she wanted to feel that she'd made her daughter as safe as possible for her own peace of mind by effectively wanting a white female to drive her, had she simply said I want a female driver instead of having to justify what she wanted to purchase with her money none of this hub hub would ever have happened, instead she bow'd down to the pathetic appologist ways of the country and got nailed for it, the BBC sacked her on the grounds of racism, if you listen to it she says sorry for sounding racist but her fears about male drivers and the Asian issue show that it does happen, and that's why she asked for a driver type request, we had a rather portly lad drive for us years ago and he stank, so bad ppl would say don't send car 7, so should all of them have lost their jobs too for being Smellist's or was it their right to not have to pay to feel ill afterwards, and he did stink I can tell you, so much so one customer threw up out of the window, he was white btw, and to finish, do you know Bristol at all? it's not a very nice place these days, so next time look at it this way, if you don't want something you have the right to ask for it not to appear, the telephonist stinks, her whole motive was to nail someone who she knew was locally famous, had it been a West Indian saying he didn't want a snowflake and could they send one of the brothers, she'd be giggling and said no more about it, you want to carry on being gagged in your own back yard carry on, I don't, I respect any creed, but I also reserve the right to risk assess when I feel the need, which was exactly what she was doing, ask the 12 yr olds mum and dad what they think, it doesn't blanket all asian drivers because that would be racist, so, put your card away and accept not everybody can like everybody and realise if someone wants something in particular that they are paying money for they have the right to ask for whatever they like, or should we instead ask for one IC3 female driver next time so not to cause offence?

If you look in the news in the trade mags you'll see most of them are Asian who are up in court for rape.

I didn't want to say that, but yes that is a fact, some might be stitch up jobs, but statistically she was correct to worry about her daughter's safety, another worrying issue soon to be addressed is that CRB checks are currently for what someone has done in this country, so effectively if he was still alive Adolf Hitler could've got a licence if he wanted one, it's being sorted right now to do CRB checks from the country of origin in future.

IC3 is how the police describe skin colour for certain skin types. IC1 is white. You can check the codes out on google.

Of course not.

But whatever background a driver has we all need to find a way to rid scum from our ranks.

Better background checks and continual closer scrutiny on us all would help.
