Taxi driver attacked and taxi stolen in Cheltenham




police are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was attacked and had his taxi and takings stolen from him in Cheltenham.

The incident happened in Howell Road in the town at around 6am on Saturday September 19.

During the incident the 35-year-old male driver, who is from Birmingham, was stabbed in the leg and also sustained minor facial injuries.

He was treated at Cheltenham General Hospital before being discharged.

The victim's taxi, which was a blue Toyota Avensis, was found on fire in Village Road soon after the incident took place.

The offenders were three men, two of whom are described as being white and one is mixed race. They are all thought to be between 22 and 30 years of age.

Its a strange old world, Taxi and PH drivers getting robbed, mugged, Beaten up, threatened and even Murdered almost on a weekly basis...yet if something happens once in a Blue moon to a member of the public we hear crys of "foul" and "The Law must be changed"

Have we really become the lowest of the low, the untouchables of our modern society? and nobody gives a stuff about us.

Yup, that's about it isn't it.


No doubt if the cabby had managed to hurt one of them as well he'd be on his way to HMP Slade to room up with Norman Stanley Fletcher 3 minutes after the nurse had stitched his leg back up.

What law must be changed.....are you saying cab drivers are subject to a different law?

I think you mean the b*stards when caught need a stiffer sentence.
