No Increase In Taxi Fares In Knowsley

Knowsley Council has announced that there will be no increase in taxi fares this year.

The Licensing Committee has approved plans, supported by the taxi trade, to freeze fares for black cabs in the borough.

Cllr Ken Keith, Cabinet Member for Corporate and Customer Services, said: “The decision not to increase fares is good news for people in the borough who use black cabs to travel.

The Council and the local taxi trade in Knowsley felt it was right not to increase fares, particularly during the difficult financial climate we are experiencing at the moment.”
