Illegal cabbie is fined AN illegal cabbie was fined after picking up passengers in Manchester city centre. Sheikh Mohammed Jamel Uddin, 48, pictured, of Grindley Avenue, Chorlton, Manchester was stopped after officers saw him pick up two women passengers on Albion Street. They found he had no private hire licence and did not have the correct insurance. Uddin was fined £100 for failing to have the correct insurance and £100 for picking up customers. He was also ordered to pay £115 costs. Uddin told Manchester magistrates he had recently become unemployed and was trying to save money so he could buy a two-way radio and apply for a licence. He was given six points on his driving licence. |

Why is he labelled an 'ilegal cabbie' when he's not a cabbie at all, he's just a member of the public praying on women. This guy could have been a rapist or a murderer but because he was caught then he claims he's just pretending to be a 'cabbie. The punishment does not fit the crime. If it was two young 11 year olds outside a school he was trying to lure into his car then do you think he would have got six points and a £100 fine. |

How much does it cost for a licence in Manchester? Surely it can't be that much he had any excuse to do what he did. He could afford to run a car after all. Send the taxman after him, too. Everyone doing it legitimately has to pay tax but you can bet Sheikh Ali-Al Bin Masoor Baron Von Jihad won't have been declaring it. |
