Found this in last night's local paper under " Services Offered ! £5 Taxi..Any single trip within the City of Dundee, including Broughty Ferry and Invergowrie £5 Monday to Thursday 9 a.m to 6 p.m Call Gaffney Private Hire on 07745 745827. It's no wonder i take a drink or 12, having to put up with a corrupt Council that has allowed illegal activities in the PH Sector for over two years now...and here's the result...Another wannabeahack that thinks he's Elliot Ness !!!
Anyone fancy a drink....

The guy is a desperado,, believe me that will not last, it will cost him too much in time and fuel to make anything decent as guys will be using him for all longer journeys within his remit... |

My point is simply this.... If that is not the most blatant case of touting... what is ??? How can a sole PH advertise as a Taxi ??? Why buy a Hack if DCC condone this ??? |

Why buy a Hack if DCC condone this ??? where does the advert appear? our regs state:- Quote: 9.5. The words ‘taxi’ ‘taxis’, ‘cab’ or any words so closely resembling those words as to likely be mistaken for them are not to be displayed on or about any Private Hire vehicle and including on any sign or notice displayed on the vehicle or on any stationary or business cards.
9.6. No other material may be displayed on the outside of the vehicle without the written authorisation of the Council. it doesnt exclude adverts in papers, online, websites, etc... |

CGSA 1982 Section 21 Offences.. (b) picks up passengers in, or permits passengers to be picked up by, a private hire car within an area in respect of which its operation requires to be but is not licensed or the driver requires to be but is not licensed, that person shall be guilty of an offence and liable, on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding level 4 on the standard scale. The defining word here is..Interpretation !! No PH can operate as a Hack. |

Anyone answering this ad will be prebooking their cut price trip. Unless Mr Gaffney's private hire car or it's driver is not licensed by DCC? BTW I think Mr Gaffney will be running around like a blue arsed fly for very little gain. |
