A TAXI driver had his arm slashed with a craft knife when he was robbed of £20.
The 35-year-old had been flagged down in Avon Way, Colchester by two men who asked to be taken to a pub at the Hythe.
As they neared the Hythe the passengers grabbed him and threatened him with the knife and demanded money.
He handed over £20 and then one of the men slashed his arm before making off.
Both men are thought to be of East European origin. One was 5ft 10ins, medium build, with dark hair, a pointed face, stubble on his chin and wearing a grey hooded top and dark trousers.
The second was 5ft 8ins, wearing green combat trousers, and a bomber jacket with orange lining.
Anyone who recognises the men or who has any other information about the incident on Saturday at about 8pm should call Det Con Steve King on 0300 333 4444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
