Councils/Licensing

I am trying to put together a list of counties that have approved the use of audio recording cctv system for the hackney or private hire trade.

Can't think of any that don't.

And if they don't maybe we should ask them if they use audio for their own CCTV?

The PCO in London refused to approve.

so far i have had calls re this subject from.

Brighton

thurrock allows cctv not sure about audio though all taxis fitted with them here are image only but will phone licensing dept tommorow and find out for you

We have been pleased to work with several Councils around the country who have insisted on audio. The case against the Southampton driver who was abusive to his passengers hinged on evidence from one of our systems.

Manchester. Southampton, Hyndburn, Doncaster, Bridlington have all specified the inclusion of audio.
