Illegal cabbie attacks man with fire extinguisher in Wandsworth Common
An unlicensed cab driver tried to rob his passenger by hitting him with a fire extinguisher, police said.
The victim was picked up and attacked at around 3am on Sunday, December 13, in Trinity Road, Wandsworth Common.
The driver, described as Asian and aged 25, demanded the customers’ money before threatening and hitting him.
Police have not released information on whether there have been any arrests or whether anything was stolen.
The news comes after Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell at Wandsworth Police warned residents not to use unlicensed cabs.
In December another illegal minicab driver, Alfred Apicella, was jailed for attacking a 24-year-old woman he picked up in Tooting.
