Alan G of, Bonny Scotland Writes on fasties :

Quote:
On thre 3rd of March the council will discuss an application by ECPH to put additional advertising on their vehicles.

Most of us are aware that ph cars frequently "seagull" outside pubs and clubs and it is because of this that women are at risk of entering an unlicensed vehicle. Extra signage would only encourage people to approach phc drivers who would then be further tempted to break the law. Surely the answer lies in ensuring that ph vehicles are NOT allowed to sit about in public places? Do the ph companies know this? Do they care? Perhaps if we could convey this message to the council they might not support the advertising campaign by ECPH and instead address the real problem and dangers to women.

No action has ever been taken by ECPH against drivers illegally picking up. This they fail to mention in their submissions to the council and the women's groups they have discussed this with.

Read this http://www.fastblacks.com/phc.html and then email every councillor to advise them of your views.

Alan G

Thanks Alan

Curious that Gladstone claimed all along that there was no demand being unmet but now admits that it is being met by private hire plying for hire outside pubs and clubs.

Clearly Mr G is a stranger to logic.

And when Mr G exhorts us to read his diatribe on Fastblacks and then email councillors, isn't he really asking them to email his views?

Finally, I find it incredible that the man who claims to have nothing to do with anything associated with the forum, who has apparently taken a back seat, is now leading a concerted attack on private hire, in particular ECPH.

AlI can say is how much I admire his new found courage. Keep it up Alan, keep it up.

Personally, it doesn't matter to me whether ECPH is allowed to put their company logo on the cars. This happens elsewhere, so why is Edinburgh so special, Edinburgh's taxi trade so precious.

The certain truth is that it is the Gladstones of this trade who have brought us to the point where PH has amassed considerable market clout.

Restricting taxis, given the public a reduced service level, and then protecting vested interests by milking customers, treating them with such scant regard, has brought us to the current position where our livelihoods are in jeopardy.

Nice one Alan.

Now, are you going to censor GOOGLE ?

I think Travis has done everything in his power to discredit Fasties. It's almost like Fasties is caught in a loop, when you consider how many times we've all been here before. Oh and once again, Alan G makes his cameo, in some vain attempt to garner what exactly, respect, credibility?

What a dick.
