I was reading Jim Thomas's latest entry on his Anderson Shelter Blog. It seems he too has been shat upon by Mann and Overton over a clock of all things.

However from the info he's supplied, It seems the Birmingham Taxi Warehouse is selling the PCO version of the Vito for £25K !! Brand New!

They also do the same vehicle without the silly rear wheel steer, in a long body for £25K (!!)

How do they do it? It's £35K down at KPM's.

The ad's: Long Wheelbase:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/THE-Mercedes-Benz ... 27abab478c

The PCO approved one with RWS:

I'm tempted.

You will have to add a bit more for an auto, if you wish, but that's not a bad deal with the servicing add on. :-$

If you don't like the wheel thing it might be worth waiting to see if the PCO license the E7.

A decision, which I'm told, is to be released by the end of March at the latest.

What day is it?

I spoke to John Mason the other day on what was happening about the turning circle and will the E7 be passed in London. He told me he'd just come out of a meeting regarding this very subject. He reckons once all the relevant parties  have been notified four months would be the earliest when anything could happen...if at all. That's if the other fifty odd interested parties in our business agreed to get rid of the turning circle. Where is Gerry Facenna when you need him.

GBC should be careful, they didn't say which end of March

Still better than the £35K + KPM charge for the Merc.

I'm sure Cab Direct are not resting on their laurels.

They'll wait so long and then insist a decision is made, then it'll be the Liverpool Case all over again. That would force TFL into allowing them, otherwise they may end up rather skint paying both sets of briefs.

If Boris wants this age limit, he'll have to allow a greater choice.

I was talking to one of our taxi drivers and apparently the E7's have a lot of problems which are coming to light after only a few years on the road. Not sure if they be the old type or the newer ones as we have both here

Sensible folks keep them for two years and then bin them off to their colleagues.
