Honiton taxi driver's blood boils

HONITON taxi drivers have no qualms about double parking - when private cars are hogging taxi rank spaces they pay dearly for.

According to one Honiton taxi company owner, 99 per cent of private cars parked in the ranks have the drivers sat inside.

Adrian Phillips, of Millstream Taxis, was incensed to read a letter in last week's Midweek Herald that drew attention to double parking in High Street.

"When private car owners pay the same licence fee that we do, which is over £200, they can double park," he said.

"I have noticed that 99 per cent of those who park in our taxi rank spaces are still in their cars - they haven't popped into a shop or the bank.

"It makes my blood boil.
