You appear to be a cabby, who wants to have control over his own destiny, regardless of what others think, and regardless of the consequence of your actions. Welcome brother. We are of a similar ilk. I would rather die on my feet, that too live on my knees, to these [edited by admin] on the council. The reality is, you will have to fight for what you want, that's just the way of it. You are not alone.

I don't “hate” being a cabby, I just drive a cab to earn a living. Thinking for yourself and being a cabby, is a different ball game. You might like the job but do you want to be a cabby? Do you really want to become one of them? A servile a*se ki*ser because you've bought a number?

That's the level of commitment they want you to make.

So there's plenty work to drive for someone and to pay a rental, but not enough work to drive and own your own Taxi. A little strange that, don't you think Chipper?

You've definitely got the slave mentality Chip.

So if you had your own Garry would all the work miraculously appear. :?
Taking into account all the outgoings you have with your own taxi do you still think you would make more money.

The work wouldn't have to appear and as for making more money, we are all making less money than when I started driving 20 years ago.

The game is fecked and on a downward spiral. The reality is, the drivers are propping up the unrealistic expectations of owners. 40-50K plate “values”, hiked rentals and double shifted vehicles so that some fanny in a radio company run by [edited by admin] can pretend to be a businessman. You've got to be kidding Saf?

Think about it this way saf, if the driver can't afford to run his own vehicle then he'll rent, but at least the choice will be his.

I'm sure these costs and a profit are all part of the rental.
Otherwise why would anyone rent out a cab?
