As I was on my way to the airport at around 11AM going along the bypass near Dreghorn there was a transit van with an add trailer on the bridge, with 3 or 4 different tariffs for the cab companies whats behind this is it a price war???

Sounds like an advert for Edinburgh city private hire, they have cut their fares so that their drivers now earn 75 peanuts a week instead of the previous 100 peanuts.
As you can imagine the drivers are delighted.

I have been told by passengers who have used them, that the struggling drivers have began to not use their meters at all, telling the passengers that their fares are worked out by the mile even within edinburgh, In a desperate attempt to get round the reduced rates that are on their meters.

But as long as ecph keep getting those radio dues and rentals, who there cares about the actual driver.

It will have been quoting cab company prices to show that they are cheaper.
I think they had a billboard somewhere in edinburgh for a wee while with the same stuff on it.

That transit, is in fact one of their executive vehicles. Was it being driven by a guy wearing a cheap suit?
