As the lad said on another thread, they are as "cheap as chips".

But I wonder why they aren't allowed everywhere. Yes they are on a par with the Elephant Man and Auriga's data head, in the ugly Olympics. But they take customers, and they take wheel-chairs.

Isn't that all that matters? :?

i dont think 203020 have submitted their applications yet as the council are still reporting under 50 applications so far and most of these will just be transfers from hired or private hire plates i know at least 9 of the applicants,i wonder whats going to happen when the individuals hiring a plate hands it back to the owner will it be rehired?there is going to be a massive change of attitude towards hired plates as the old hired plates suddenly become legal and wont be so keen to tolerate them but there will always be someone who doesnt want to be legaly regitered..

Don't forget 203020 can have a thousand vehicles, but they don't drive themselves.

If the council are going to allow a £10,000 WAVs, then surely many of the lads will choose to run their own.

However I do fear for the Dundee HC trade, not for what may lay ahead, but for the costs of the past.

Don't forget the local drivers union has still got an outstanding case with 203020. I'm afraid that if 203020 legal team are any good, they are going to clobber the union for their costs.

If the union don't settle, the costs will increase vastly. There is no way a court will decide on this case now. I'm afraid it's over. :(

Yet another case of ordinary working drivers being let down by those who should have known better. Out of this 203020 are no angels, but neither are the union.

Goodness me I'm starting to sound like SM.

The reason that they are not allowed in Brighton is that the council will not licence a vehicle if it means that a seat has to be removed to accommodate a wheelchair.

Mind you, I dont see what the problem is really. As long as the vehicle is wheelchair accessible then wahst the problem with reoving a seat?

Can anyone enlighten me as to how easy or difficult it is to rmove this seat?

I could be wrong, but the one a saw at Sandown didn't need to have a seat taken out. They just collapse the seats like in most hatchbacks/estates.

It does make a four seater a two seater, one customer in the front, one in the wheelchair. But hey, if they want WAVs licensed, then license the WAVs.

Just because it's cheap, doesn't stop it being a WAV.

I have always found that it doesn't really matter what licensed vehicle you drive throughout the Xmas period, becuase it's mobbed out any way.

So if they have to wait a few extra months, well so be it. At least they can work like so and so's during Xmas to help pay for the things.
